Nowadays, there has appeared a heated discussion among the college students as to whether they should live alone outside the campus or live together with other roommates in the students’ dormitory. Some people express their satisfaction at the way students live. They think living with roommates is better for students. However, some others do not agree with the idea.
Those who are in favor of Living alone maintain that it is very convenient to live by themselves. They can enjoy absolute freedom in a room of their own. They can have their own timetable without disturbing others. They are also free to equip the room with a personal computer so that they can have easy access to the Internet.
living with roommates can provide students with a good chance to get along with others. If students live with roommates, they are require to consider more about their roommates` feelings and should pay more attention to their ways that they speak and behave. This will promote their social skills .Besides, living with roommates, students will feel less loneliness. They can share their sorrow and happiness together. Especially when they have some physical and mental problems, they can timely get their roommate` previous advice and powerful supports.
As far as I’m concerned, I prefer to live with roommates because I love the feeling of belonging. Besides, it is a lot cheaper to live in a dorm than to rent a apartment outside the campus.
