Xinjiang 
Xinjiang is a region which is unlike any other place in China. It is larger and farther west than any other province or region in the country. It gets water from more than 1800 glaciers and many rivers and lakes. More than half of the people living there are Uighurs. It is famous for its sweet fruits, such as melons, apples, grapes and pears. It is also rich in oil and metals. Its capital is Urumqi, which not so long ago was an important oasis on the Silk Road. However the days of caravans have gone. Most business is done by road or by rail now. you can see the snow-covered Tianshan Mountain when you look east, west or south in the city. There is a beautiful lake in Tianshan Mountains. It is called Tianchi. It is about 3400 metres long and 1500 metres wide. The water is clear and blue and shines in the sun. Visitors can go boating, riding, or walking along the lake. Turpan is also in Xinjiang. It is the second lowest place on earth. It used to be called “The Land of Fire” because it is so hot in summer. However, in winter it is very cold. 
Xinjiang is really a beautiful place.

The Changjiang River 
The Changjiang River is the longest river in China. It is also our Mother River. It is used for transporting. Many visitors like to travel by ship on the Changjiang River because they can watch the beautiful scenery on both sides of the river. But some people threw rubbish into the river and many factories put waste into the river. The river is polluted and the ecosystem of the Changjiang River is not right any more. Many plants and fish have died. People knew something had to be done. People who throw rubbish into the river and factories which put waste into the river will have to pay for it. We hope the ecosystem of the Changjiang River will be healthy and strong again in the future.

How to be a good teacher 
A good teacher should be good at teaching and know a lot. He should be strict with the students in class and he should be friendly and helpful to the students after class. He should get on well with the students and regard the students as his own children. When the students is in trouble, the teacher will help to solve the problem. A good teacher may play with the students, too. They go on a picnic, play basketball and so on together. I think that is what a good teacher should do.

A good student should be good at learning by himself. He must listen carefully in class. When he has questions, he should ask his teacher for help in time. He gets on well with others and he should be always ready to help others. A good student should read many books and know a lot. A good student also knows how to spend time. He may learn for one or two hours and then relax for a while. 
To listen carefully, teach herself, ask questions and so on can help a person to be a good student.

My day 
I got on the bus at 7:00 in the morning and I reached the City Wildlife Park at about 8:30. I visited the golden monkeys, and watched the animal show in the morning. In the afternoon I visited the safari park by bus. I saw many animals, such as tigers, lions, wolves, deer and so on. My favourite animal is tiger. Because tiger is the king of all the animals, I know that we must take good care of the animals.
