BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN Wednesday, October 10, 2012 TWO prominent Bruneians were lauded during the Korea National Day celebration yesterday for their efforts towards promoting bilateral relations between the two countries.
Wu Chun, a celebrity in the Asian entertainment industry and pioneer behind the successful Fitness Zone health club, received his letter of appointment by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MoFAT) as Brunei's Goodwill Ambassador to Korea.
With his legion of fans worldwide, Wu Chun is expected to enhance understanding between the people of Brunei and Korea as well as contribute to bilateral relations.
Speaking to The Brunei Times, the newly-appointed Goodwill Ambassador said that he was honoured to receive the title.
"I'm passionate about introducing my country to the world," he said, adding that he hopes to promote the Bruneian culture and delicacies on an international level.
Wu Chun, also known as Goh Kiat Chun, further disclosed that he is collaborating with the Korean embassy on organising a number of charity projects targetted at the youth.
Another prominent Bruneian to receive an award was Dato Paduka Dr Hj Zulkarnain Hj Hanafi, Permanent Secretary of Education and Vice Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), in recognition of his bilateral efforts in education. Rabiatul Kamit
