Sharing a birthday with her mother, Sumatran tiger Soraya, Shanti and her two sisters Jaya and Ndari were born the morning of June 9 weighing a healthy 1.3kg, 1.28kg and 1.13kg. Shanti means inner peace in an ancient, classical Indian language. Shanti is also younger sister to Indah and Rahni who were born in March 2007. Shanti and her sister’s are an important milestone in the captive breeding program for Sumatran tigers. When they are adults around 3 to 4 years they will move to other zoos to be involved in the global breeding program.

Rahni

Name: Rahni (meaning brave)
Species: Sumatran Tiger
Date of Birth: March 31, 2007
Sex: Female
Colour: Golden with dark stripes
Average weight: 80 kgs
Rahni was one of the first litter of Sumatran tiger cubs born at Tiger Island. Rahni’s parents Soraya and Raja have the purest blood lines in the Australasian region, therefore Rahni is extremely significant contribution to the conservation of Sumatran Tigers. When she is 3-4 years of age, she will be transferred to another zoo for the global breeding program。

Mohan（Rest In Peace）

Name: Mohan (meaning charming)
Species: Bengal Tiger
Date of Birth: November 2, 1994
Sex: Male
Colour: White with light stripes
Average weight: 180 kgs
Born in the United States and transferred to Dreamworld as one of the original inhabitants of Tiger Island in 1995. Known as “The King” of Tiger Island he was father to Rama, Sita, Sultan and Taj who were born at Tiger Island in 1998. Mohan sadly passed away on 20 June 2012, aged 17 years.
During his life, Mohan touched many hearts and inspired many people, achieving much for the conservation of his species. Through his Tiger Island photos, morning walks with guests and his daily shows, Mohan has contributed significantly to support conservation teams in Sumatra and Russia who provide educational programs and anti-poaching patrols that stop the tiger from becoming extinct.
If guests would like to make a contribution in recognition of Mohan, the work of Tiger Island and the Dreamworld Wildlife Foundation, donations can be made by participating in any of Dreamworld’s Wildlife Experiences, Adopt an Animal programs or donations in park.

Sultan

Sex: Male
Colour: Golden with dark stripes
Average weight: 200 kgs
One of the first litter born at Tiger Island. Son of Mohan and brother to Rama, Sita, and Taj. The largest tiger at Tiger Island.

Rama

Name: Rama (meaning kindly god)
Species: Bengal Tiger
Date of Birth: October 23, 1998
Sex: Male
Colour: Golden with light stripes
Average weight: 180 kgs
One of the first litter born at Tiger Island. Son of Mohan and brother to Sultan, Sita, and Taj. Rama possesses very unusual coloration: a light orange coat with faint brown stripes. This is because his father was white and mother - dark orange.

Species: Bengal Tiger
Date of Birth: October 23, 1998
Sex: Female

Average weight: 135 kgs
One of the first litter born at Tiger Island. Daughter of Mohan and sister to Rama, Sultan, and Taj. Sita possesses very unusual coloration: a light orange coat with faint brown stripes. This is because her father was white and mother - dark orange

Kato

Name: Kato (meaning pure)
Species: Bengal Tiger
Date of Birth: October 24, 2001
Sex: Male
Colour: Golden with dark stripes
Average weight: 160kgs
Born at a wildlife park outside Sydney and transferred to Dreamworld on November 19, 2001.

Raja

Name: Raja (meaning King)
Species: Sumatran Tiger
Date of Birth: December 25, 2003
Sex: Male
Colour: Golden with dark stripes
Average weight: 110 kgs
Raja is the Father of Indah and Rahni. Born in Krefelder Zoo, Germany Raja was transferred to Dreamworld on December 1, 2005 as part of the world wide species management program. Raja bred with Soraya, who along with their offspring Indah have been transferred to another institution for breeding purposes. Raja has not been hand-raised and can not be handled by Tiger Island staff. He lives in his purpose built, off-exhibit tiger facility at Tiger Island.
