2014-2015赛季乒超联赛开战，男团首轮，马龙和张继科分别率领宁波海天和山东鲁能3-0胜出，取得赛季开门红。许昕一胜一负，上海以1-3落败，未能取得赛季首胜。
新科世乒赛男单冠军马龙领衔的宁波海天，面对深圳明金海，整体实力明显胜出一筹。首场单打，马龙面对深圳的中国香港外援黄镇廷，前两局以11-5的相同比分胜出后，第三局7-11、7-11和11-3胜出。第二场单打，闫安面对尹航，五局苦战以12-10、11-7、10-12、9-11和7-3击败对手。双打比赛，闫安与吕翔合作，面对刘吉康/刘亚楠，以8-11、12-10和7-5逆转拿下。宁波海天主场3-0击败深圳明金海。
