就说这次翻译1949第八章，其中有一段 
Toms face barely darkened before he burst out laughing. Harry was so taken aback he almost crawled back and ran. After Tom had stopped laughing he faced Harry who sat terrified. He hoped Tom couldn’t tell but he had the distinct impression that he did. 
Tom脸一沉，紧接着哈哈大笑起来。反而Harry被吓得差点连滚带爬临阵脱逃。Tom止住笑后，转过来面对吓得够呛的Harry。但愿Tom没看出来，可惜Harry觉得他是看出来了。

最后两句里的tell，我不知道到底是直译为“告诉”还是“识别”。 

如果是“告诉”，就应该是“但愿Tom说不出来，可惜Harry觉得他确实能说。” 
如果是“识别”，那就是“但愿Tom没看出来，可惜Harry觉得他是看出来了。” 
当然前文有一句“Tom smiled in a mournful way. He was finally going to tell him.”所以很有可能前者正确。不过我在想这种表达法很奇怪，为什么不用“wouldn’t tell”而是“couldn't tell”？难道是指魔王编谎话编不出？

紧接着的后面一句：

Harry felt his happiness fade away. Drop like a rock from plane, a cartoon wreaking ball on the coyote . 
Harry觉得自己的欢愉一下子褪去了。简直像飞机上砸下的大石头，像一击重锤。

后一句coyote意为狼，跟美国那个BB鸟动画有关，如图；wreaking ball是Wrecking Ball的误拼，就是拆房子那种大铁球，如图二。可是我要怎么跟观众说清楚啊orz，“砸在Coyote狼身上的大铁球”？或者干脆意译比较好？

wrecking ball就是那个球啊...真是专业术语orz

感觉第一处还是用‘识别’比较好，那个couldn't tell估计是指Harry希望Tom没看出他心虚了。

第三个没什么逻辑问题吧，Tom后面的确得到了一个什么特殊贡献奖，罗列在霍格沃茨奖品陈列室里。估计就是指这个吧:X

第二个……超出鄙人能力范围……华说偶翻译一向大条，这类细节就统统直译了……

第三个确实讲不通啊，重点不是特殊贡献奖，
是“Harry不觉得Tom应得这个奖。就好像他也觉得不需要再颁给他一个妖言惑众奖。”
要我说，TR同学绝对应得一个妖言惑众奖，呵呵orz

哇，大家都在啊~前面我是回sheep的，后来看了v的，被绕晕了呵呵。不如你帮我理一下，重新翻一遍这段吧，我咋看咋觉得自己翻的跟前边那个doubtful相悖orz

唉，我的中文很烂
总之，我的意思就是He didn’t need another award for being manipulative是他根本就不需要这个奖（意思就是这是小菜一碟，轻而易举的事，他还看不上眼呢，他的能力完全超出这个范围了），Tom would get one at the end of the year，在学年结束时他可以得奖，意思就是以他的行为和能力，这个奖是囊中之物啊。
你自己想不想（需不需要）得奖和你的能力能不能得（别人是否要颁奖给你）是两回事啊。

哦。。。。我明白，但是在背完整个学期的政治刚要之后让我组织语言是个不可能完成的任务。。。so，下周我再来试着纠结。。orz
唉，为什么她说话这么绕呢。。�

里头每个次都能看懂，但就翻译不出那个语气，怎么改怎么不合适。外加马尔福一敬一炸一冷一热的反应……真痛苦~~

摊手，想不出，我只能意译。我觉得sheep那句“你们家为社会做出什么大不了（或者‘了不得’）的贡献？”已经挺好了。

sheep的那两句都不错啦，尤其是一官半职，特强调，呵呵。
其实语气这种东西是读者无所谓译者老大难。

来问几个stranger系列里的翻译问题吧。遇到麻烦了……
……Before him was a spiral staircase that seemed to go on forever. The beech wood steps with bronze handrail spun upwards and away. There had to be at least a thousand steps in the staircase.
"And me without my slinky," muttered Harry bitterly, to no one in particular. 
那个“me without my slinky”？？不明白~O~

还有，哈利藏在桌子底下听到两名傲罗在谈论女孩，那段偶也没看懂：X
"...and this guy was like huge, you know, looked like a bouncer at a club. And he says to me, he says 'She's a bit of a looker on reception'. 'Too right, mate', says I" These morons are supposed to be our best line of defence, thought Harry. Jesus, we're in trouble. Actually, it was quite fortunate for Harry, because the two Aurors were more interested in their conversation than doing a thorough search for him.
"And who was on the front desk?"
"Rachel."
"Yeah, she is a bit of a looker. Gorgeous tits." The footsteps were so close. They were about three feet from the door of the office in which Harry was hiding.
(前面基本上看明白了，后面的可就不明白啦)
"That's what he said. He goes, 'she looks athletic. I bet she rides like a minx." Harry heard the second Auror snort with laughter. They stopped, right outside the door. Harry could see their feet from where he was hidden. Please don't look in here! he prayed silently. The Auror continued. "It gets better. I said, 'yeah, she rides horses as a little bonus.' He says 'stop it mate, I'm gonna have to go to the bog and knock one out'"
搞不清楚他们在笑什么……


顺便在问一句，后面要用到指代平行宇宙另一个自己的词，原文是counterpart，有什么比较合适的中文词汇对照么？考虑过‘另一个我’感觉怪怪的……

第一句没看懂，很诡异的样子....

第二段，依猥琐的目光来看，那男的开了个黄色笑话orz。
"That's what he said." He goes, "she looks athletic. I bet she rides like a minx." 
“他就这么讲来着。”他接着道，“那女的看起来可健美了，我打赌上起来也很带劲。”
athletic是强健，用在口语里显得太生硬，我又想不到更贴切的字眼，正点？orz……minx是轻浮女子，按照中文口语意译了一下。据说啊据说，男人讲黄段子时都会傻笑...

第三个，另一个我我觉得挺好，大概因为你翻译的缘故，其实读者看着还是蛮顺的...
