Speculations regarding the casting of Aankhen 2 have been going around for quite some time now. It was during the release of Welcome Back when director Aneez Bazmi told us that he is working on the sequel to the film and an announcement regarding the same would be made soon. However, we have learnt from our sources that a fresh pairing has been cast in the much talked about sequel. While Aankhen starred Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Sushmita Sen, Arjun Rampal and Paresh Rawal in the lead, the second part of the film will star none other than Shahid Kapoor along with Katrina Kaif as the protagonists. Yes, you read that right! "Aankhen 2 will star Shahid Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Amitabh Bachchan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead. Official announcements will happen soon," informs our source. When we tried getting in touch with director Anees Bazmi, he said, "There will be official announcements made on this." Probe him further on the casting and he says, "No comments. But one thing is for sure that without Amitabh Bachchan Aankhen 2 cannot be made. There are 2-3 other actors also signed. Official announcements will be made soon about this may be in 15-20 days."
