"Two households, both alike in dignity
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean." ---- "The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet", William Shakespeare
"The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet" is one of the most famous play ever written by William Shakespeare, and one of the most famous writing ever exists. The play illustrates a story about the love between Romeo and Juliet- the heir of two rival family households called Montague and Capulet- who, eventually committed their own suicide for their love. There are many facts that became the pushing force of the death of Romeo and Juliet. However, the feud between the two households and Prince Escalus- the political leader of Verona- take most responsibility for the death of Romeo and Juliet.
It is common for people to think that Romeo and Juliet take responsibility for their own death, since their dramatic, childish, and over-action behavior. After another, they rush their relationships without been mentally prepared, which again becomes a supporting fact of this claim. However, Romeo and Juliet does not just killed themselves without a reason. There are pushing facts which caused their tragedy. For example, they would not act so childish and dramatic if their parents care less about their feud, and take more time trying to communicate with them. Moreover, if Romeo and Juliet were been understood by their parents by communications, then it will not be necessary for them to rely so much on each others and rush their relationships. These facts also proves my idea that the family feud takes responsibility for Romeo and Juliet's death.
The family feud is a main reason that causes Romeo and Juliet's death. For example, the feud makes Romeo and Juliet "rivals", as Juliet says in act 1, scene 5, "My only love sprung from my only hate!" They cannot love each others as normal couples, since they are not supposed to be loving each others because they are in the two rival families. this eventually becomes the reason that they cannot tell their parents about their love, since their parents focus more on they feud than their feelings, and will be disappointed about that their daughter and son are loving a member from a rival family. Moreover, since lord Capulet has no knowledge of Juliet's marriage with Romeo, he forces Juliet to marry Paris, kinsman of Prince Escalus, since he thinks that Juliet is upset about the fact that Tybalt, a member of the Capulet Family, was been killed by Romeo. Tybalt, on another hand, died, having no other reason but because of the family feud, since he challenges Romeo to a duel because romeo is a Montague. This situation later becomes the reason that causes Romeo to be banished from Verona, his hometown. However, Romeo would not be banished if another situation did not occurred.
Prince Escalus is the reason for Romeo to be banished. As mentioned above, Romeo was been banished for killing Tybalt. However, it is the prince who banishes Romeo, since he was enraged by the fact that Tybalt killed one of his kinsman Mercutio, and blame Romeo for the unfortunate death. Moreover, since Romeo was been banished, he did not get the message that Juliet is faking her death for getting rid of Paris, and takes the poison to commit suicide after knowing that Juliet is "dead". This situation would not happen if the prince makes a fair and rightful decision when Romeo killed Tybalt. Additionally, Juliet "stabs herself with Romeo's dagger and dies"(5.3, l170-171) after knowing that Romeo was dead. Again this would not happen if the prince simply not banishing Romeo from Verona. It is obvious that Prince Escalus takes responsibility for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet.
In conclusion, Romeo and Juliet died because the family feud and the prince. Although that the family feud takes most responsibilities, it is also true that Prince Escalus takes some responsibilities.

Than this of Juliet her Romeo."----"The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet", William Shakespeare
