0:32 Hall: Yeah, two and a half weeks to go (till the Boston Marathon)
0:36 Hall: Training has been good. Has been enjoying it a lot, you know. Just like, don’t feel a ton of pressure. You feel just like I am just going to go out there. Whatever is going to be is what it’s going to be. Just go out there and, just been fun. Just been fun build up.
0:54 It’s good, Mike
0:57 Centuries ago in the North African desert, tribal dancers would perform to the late hours of night. On a rare night, performers would seemly transcend what is humanly impossible, and the crowd would chant “ola ola ola” in response, meaning by God by God by God, because they could see God in the performers’ dance. As the custom eventually took root in Spain, the pronunciation changed, from Ola to the more modernly known Ole, chanted in bull-fighting and flamingo dancing to this day.
1:28 Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole
1:31 Mile one 4:18 [Incredibly Fast, especially under high altitude condition!!]
1:57 Mile two 4:24
2:01 Hall: I am sure you can all think of times when someone performs outside of themselves. Lance Armstrong at Tour de France, Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps at 2008 Olympics, the list goes on and on. I love to watch transcending performances because, like those in the North African desert, it gives me a glimpse of God.
3:07 Up the hill
3:29 Hall: Recently reporters asked me what my goal was for the upcoming Boston Marathon. You think I get asked this question a lot, and would have the canned response ready to spit out, but I didn’t have one. The easy answer is I want to win the Boston Marathon, which would be a noble goal, but to be totally honest; it’s really not the deepest desire of my heart. As I though about it, I thought about what got me into running in the first place, what I most love about running. I concluded that the only thing about running, that I love more than those moments is I have given others, or hopefully one day will give others, a glimpse of God, are those moments that I feel God running in me. It’s hard to articulate, but when you experience it, you know it. Those moments that are typically effortful are now effortless. The thoughts in your head melts away and all that is left is joy, delight and the satisfying sensation of performing outside of yourself.
4:35 8 Miles 38:06 [So fast!!]
4:39 8 X 300 Meter Hills

4:50 Interviewer: How does that feel?
Hall: Good
4:59 Hall: 42.1 on that one
5:21 Mammoth Super Stars [a group of elite runners training by Mammoth]
5:26 In the Bible it says, not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit as the Lord of host. The Bible tells story of men doing the impossible when the spirit of God is upon them; the chained Sampson pushing over the pillar of the house; Elijah outrunning Ahab to Jezreel.
5:42 Hall: The signs of wonder are everywhere. As Verses and Proverbs says the horses made ready for the day of battle, the victory rests with the Lord.
5:50 Hall: So what is my goal for the Boston Marathon? My goal is to run in the Spirit and perform the same way as the dancers performing in desert of Africa. Then maybe, just maybe, someone will see a glimpse of God out there, as I race toward Boylston [end point of Boston Marathon].
