FC Augsburg take a look back at what has been a very successful 2016 for the club. The past twelve months have been dominated by both success in the Bundesliga and the Europa League.
FC Augsburg had already confirmed their place in the Europa League knockout stages by the end of 2015. As a result, the club's training camp in Estepona (Spain) was not only used to prepare for the second half of the Bundesliga, but the team also particularly focused on the upcoming game against Liverpool. The training camp culminated in a 2-0 victory in a friendly against top Swiss club FC Basel.
Three new signings and one player making his comeback strengthened the squad during the winter break strengthened the squad. Jeffrey Gouweleeuw moved from fellow Europa League side AZ Alkmaar as well as Albian Ajeti from FC Basel. In addition, the Fuggerstädter signed Iceland striker Alfred Finnbogason. Youth player Erik Thommy also made his return to the Swabians after completing his loan with 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
It would become clear later in the year that the intense preparations were more than worth it.

The Bundesliga season traditionally ends in May. For at least two clubs, that means relegation to the 2. Bundesliga. However FCA made sure that was not a concern for them with one game to go.
It took until matchday 33 in the end for the Fuggerstädter to secure their safety but they booked their place in Germany's top flight for yet another season. Daniel Baier hit a wonder strike as FCA drew 1-1 away at Schalke to start the celebrations for a successful season. The final match of the season ended in a 3-1 home defeat against HSV.
The game against HSV was the last for cult-hero Alexander Manninger in an FCA shirt. The coaching team rewarded the veteran goalkeeper, bringing on "Manni" in front of the Augsburg crowd, who honoured him with a standing ovation. Not only was this Alex Manninger's final game, it also proved to be the last time Weinzierl and his coaching team would take charge of the Augsburg team.
And that was the season over. FC Augsburg ended a wonderful 2015/16 campaign and could look forward to another year in the Bundesliga. Reaching the knockout stages of the Europa League will go down in the history books for FCA as a huge milestone for the club.

Important personnel changes were made at FC Augsburg very shortly after the end of the 2015/16 Bundesliga season. Dirk Schuster took over as manager of FC Augsburg in June.
The media had been speculating over the managerial situation for weeks, but on 2nd June it was revealed that former Germany international Dirk Schuster would take over from Markus Weinzierl and his team. He brought his assistants Sascha Franz and Frank Steinmetz who he worked with at SV Darmstadt 98 to Augsburg. Dirk Schuster signed a three year contract at the club.
The team started their preparations for the upcoming season under their new manager just three weeks later. At first Dirk Schuster had to make do without a few key players who were playing for their countries at the European Championships in France. Alfred Finnbogason caused a sensation whilst playing for Iceland, helping his team reach the quarter-finals before they were knocked out by hosts and runners-up France.
Dirk Schuster had a full squad available from July onwards and even welcomed more new faces to the team. Takashi Usami (Gamba Osaka), Marvin Friedrich (FC Schalke 04) and Gojko Kacar (Hamburger SV) all transferred to FC Augsburg in the summer.
Augsburg rounded off their preparations for the upcoming season by spending a week at a training camp in Mals at the end of July. The boys trained hard in the surroundings of the Alps for eight days in order to perfect those final touches ahead of the upcoming season.
六月&七月

七月，球队迎来了三个新面孔，宇佐美、弗莱德里希和卡查尔。七月的最后一个星期，队员们进行了为期八天的赛季前集训。

九月：赛季第一场三分。
德甲赛程进入了九月，然而我们的球员有不少都在为他们的国家出战，参加2018俄罗斯世界杯预选赛。
脏逼科尔受德国队征兆，入选了德国u21梯队，在德国3:0斯洛伐克的比赛中他首发登场。
德甲比赛第二轮我们客场对阵不来梅，2:1拿下了对手，赛季第一次全取三分。

十月，我们举办了赛季第一个公开训练日，u23梯队的小帅哥们给粉丝们送上了免费的啤酒和Bratwurstsemmeln（应该是一种类似香肠和包子的德国当地食物）

十二月（官网只更到了十一月所以十二月由奥堡非官方海外编辑本人来写）
十二月，球队毒瘤舒斯特尔终于滚蛋了，球队青训教练鲍姆接手。鲍姆已接受就开始着手收拾烂摊子，把心怀前锋梦的后卫max调回了边卫的位置（尽管他很不服），把日本三次元太空翼宇佐美贵矢扶正首发（尽管他有点独），把两位三旬老汉按到替补席了（太好了老子终于不用当大腿了）。
球队在保姆接手后取得了一胜一平的好成绩开心开心祝保姆日后的教练生活一帆风顺
