Edan is a place in which you start the game. At first glance, the terrainshere may seem a little bit idyllic (the Berserkers try to renew the ground thatwas destroyed by the falling comet). However, its forests and ruins hide manydangers - some monsters that live in Edan are impossible to defeat without awell-developed character which means that a full exploration requires a lot ofexperience. Some places can be visited right after starting the game but therest of the locations may require your hero to be at about level 15. The mostimportant location in Edan is called Goliet which serves as theBerserkers' headquarters.
Goliet
Goliet is located in Edan and the city serves as the Berserkers' main base- the faction is led by Ragnar but you can also find other important characterssuch as Cormag and Angrim. This is probably the first big location that youwill visit. Here, you can buy better gear (that is useful in the first fewhours of the game) - such as Horned Sword or Hatchet. Goliet also offers a lotof quests but some of them require that you visit hard-to-explore places, however, you can return to them later. Besides that, you can also recruit Duras- travelling with a companion is better than being alone.
You can complete a few simple quests that can give you experience:
The Second Guard - Eldur asks you to find Alvar who was supposed to replace him in guarding the gate. You must run a small investigation - speak with characters in the following order: Drog, Oran and Argor (their locations are pointed by the quest marker). You must then go to Ragnar's fortress, to the back of the building's base (you must use your jet pack). There, you can find dead Alvar - examine his corpse and read a note that you can find nearby. After that you can go back to Eldur - you receive 750 XP and 200 Elexit.
Mutant Attack - you start this mission automatically after reaching the north part of Goliet. The farmers are attacked by five mutated boars - these enemies are rather strong but the NPCs will help you. Each enemy gives you 65 XP but even if you don't kill any of them, you still get 800 XP for completing the mission.
Free Beer - you receive this quest from a guard near Goliet's west gate. He asks you to bring him beer - the easiest way is to bring him a bottle, for that you will get 100 XP. You can also try to defeat him in a duel or - if you have one point invested in Combat - you can convince him to change his mind. Doing that gives you 50 Elexit.
