PHOENIX, Arizona, October 1. BACKSTROKE world record holder Aaron Peirsol is today's guest on The Morning Swim Show, discussing his experiences at world championships and the open water event in Florida bearing his name.
Host Peter Busch talks with Peirsol about his performances in Rome, where he missed the final of the 100 back, only to return and break the world record in the 200 and post the year's fastest time in the 100 leading off the medley relay. Peirsol said the feeling of finding another gear in the final 75 meters of his 200 back was a surprise and made the world record even more fulfilling. He also talks about next week's Race for the Oceans event, which will also feature top pool and open water swimmers.
