原文DC Explains Weekly Digital Comics Plan Amid Diamond Shutdown DC Comics says it still plans to release weekly digital issues in the midst of Diamond Comic Distributors' COVID-19-related shutdown. With Diamond Comic Distributors temporarily shutting its doors as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the shipment of physical comic books effectively being halted as a result, DC Comics has confirmed it will continue to publish weekly digital issues. Adam Phillips -- DC's Director of Marketing Services -- confirmed in the Burbank-based publisher's private Facebook page for Direct Market comic book retailers that digital comics will continue to go on sale as planned while the shipment of print issues is suspended. "Here's where we are on digital," he said. "All our data shows the digital consumer and the physical consumer are two different audiences. For now, we're going to continue to release digital comics, but will revisit this if the pipeline for physical distribution continues to be challenged and disrupted." Phillips was also asked if DC had discussed allowing retailers to sell codes for digital comics, to which he replied, "Not yet, but we'll look into it." Following the social distancing procedures currently in effect as a result of COVID-19, as well as the news that Diamond would not be accepting shipments for print comic books with an on-sale date of April 1 or later, major comic publishers like DC and Marvel Comics implemented measures to take pressure off retailers and explained they were working on plans on how to traverse the situation moving forward, though neither commented on whether or not they would continue to publish weekly digital comics. In DC's case, we can now say the answer to that question is "yes." The publisher joins Archie Comics, which will also be releasing its April 1 released digitally. In contrast, Dark Horse Comics has suspended digital releases until Diamond reopens. The DC comics scheduled to go on sale this Wednesday
