Gasunie is a European gas infrastructure company. Our network ranks among the largest high pressure gas pipeline grids in Europe, consisting of over 15,000 kilometres of pipeline in the Netherlands and northern Germany, dozens of installations and approximately 1,300 gas receiving stations. The annual gas throughput totals approximately 125 billion cubic metres.
We serve the public interest in the markets in which we are active and work to create value for our stakeholders.
Gasunie is the first independent gas transport provider with a cross-border network in Europe and offers transport services via its subsidiaries Gas Transport Services B.V. (GTS) in the Netherlands and Gasunie Deutschland in Germany. We also offer other services in the gas infrastructure field, including gas storage and LNG. We consider the wishes of our customers to be of prime importance.
We aim for the highest standards in safety, reliability, efficiency and sustainability. Due to the reliability and strategic location of our network in relation to expanding international gas flows, the Gasunie network forms the core of what is called the northwest European 'gas roundabout'.
Gas Transport Services B.V. (GTS) is the national network operator and is responsible for providing gas transport services and expanding the domestic pipeline network and its accompanying installations. GTS is a fully owned subsidiary of N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie; however, it performs its tasks fully autonomously, as required by law (Gas Act). Through GTS, Gasunie provides gas transport and associated services to its customers. These are mainly shippers, industries connected to the domestic network and other national and international network companies. GTS operates from its headquarters in Groningen.
The Construction & Maintenance division is responsible for ensuring, partly on commission from GTS, a safe, reliable and sustainable gas transport system which can be exploited in an efficient and commercially responsible way.
The Participations & Development division concentrates on the development of non-regulated services and products and on participation in national and international projects in the gas infrastructure sector. It is also responsible for joint ventures in pipelines that link the Dutch network to foreign markets, such as the BBL to the United Kingdom.
Gasunie Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG operates the North German pipeline network. It is also responsible for the management and development of accompanying installations. Gasunie Deutschland is a wholly owned subsidiary of N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie but conducts most of its operations independently. Gasunie Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG is based in Hannover.
