Comic-Con 2010: Clash of the Titans 2 Yet to Spear Liebesman
We don't know who's directing Clash of the Titans 2, but we know who it's not.

Warner Bros greenlight Clash of the Titans 2 in June and the rumor mill quickly attached Jonathan Liebesman's name to the project. After a panel for Battle: Los Angeles at San Diego Comic Con, Liebesman told UGO that he has in fact not signed on for the project.
When I asked Liebesman what he would, hypothetically, do with the new movie, he had this to say, "I think that everyone would want to take the criticisms of the first one and address them. I would definitely shoot it in 3D."
The Battle: Los Angeles director said he would make Clash of the Titans 2 more "real," which is to say grounded and less CG-heavy.
"The first one is fun and CGI and Louis [Letterrier] did an awesome visual job. But, if that was Episode 1, I'd want it to feel like Episode 4."
Critical reviews aside, the box office numbers justified a remake for Warner Bros. The film made nearly a half a billion dollars worldwide and critics can go screw when a studio sees that sorts of money.
But, a sequel for Clash of the Titans does have its obstacles. If Sam Worthington is to star, production would need to start by January to accodomate Worthington's Avatar 2 schedule. Warner Bros needs to find a director and find one fast. For the time being, it isn't Jonathan Liebesman.
