Lucien Favre: "The late equaliser at 2-2 is regrettable, but we had opportunities ourselves to score more goals. We didn't do that. There were spells in which we didn't play well. The opportunities were there, but we need to get in behind with the right acceleration and keep the ball better. We dominated the match and scored a goal after 10 minutes. Then you need to build on that. In the second period as well, we had big chances we didn't take. You can't completely dominate a match for the full 90 minutes. All in all it was okay, but not good enough. It has nothing to do with mentality. We created a lot of chances but the final or penultimate balls weren't good."

There was too much back and forth and we were sometimes too hasty, took too many risks and on many occasions gave the ball away too easily. We can actually play a lot better. We have to find the balance. Of course, we are disappointed today, that's obvious."

Bürki: “We need to be more aggressive in situations when it really matters, at set pieces for example, we need to do that both offensively and defensively. Our games are sometimes really nice to watch, but we lack killer instinct. We have a good mix in the team, but sometimes I would like to see one or the other showing a bit more aggressiveness. We have some important games coming up, especially on Wednesday in the Champions League and then away in Freiburg. We do not have much time to recover, nor much time in training. We have to use what little time there is intensively now."

Reus: “We did not close the game out today. After we made it 1: 1 we actually had the game under control. Looking back, we created too few goalscoring chances to decide the game. In the end, we were lacking the necessary power. Unfortunately, that was not enough in the second half. We were playing towards our fans in the South terrace so we should have shown more desire to score a third goal. Of course, conceding a goal like that from a set piece hurts, especially at that stage of the game. Bremen played very well in the second half, us less so unfortunately. We have to play more aggressively and courageously when we attack. At the beginning of the season it is important to start well and not to lose touch with the leaders. Today we have done that brilliantly. We knew it would not be an easy game. We are very happy and relieved because we have not won for three games. Such a win is vital. Today we put in a good performance especially in the first half. After 18 minutes, we should have been leading 2-0. In the second half we lost control a bit. Slavia really put us under pressure. But we withstood it and scored a second goal at the end. Achraf Hakimi had an outstanding game on the wing and decided the game in our favour. We hoped that we would get the space today for him to use with his speed. The coach's plan worked like a dream. Up front, Julian Brandt played an unfamiliar role. He’s a really strong runner, can combine well with others and has given everything. He had to take a lot of punishment from their central defenders. He played very well, was strong in the tackle, held the ball up well and played two vital passes to Hakimi."

Hummels: "We're very frustrated. We've dropped two points in each of our last two away matches because of own goals. Freiburg didn't have a single shot today after equalising at 1-1. With that in mind, it was really bad luck for us to end up drawing 2-2, even though it hadn't been a perfect performance from us beforehand. We know that we need to improve. Many will now be away with their national teams. We'd have preferred to go into the international break with a victory. One positive for us is that no team has pulled away. We're very close in what is a tight table."
