Idol groups 2PM and the Wonder Girls have been confirmed as performers in the 2010 Korea Times Music Festival to be held at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California on May 1. The first group of confirmed artists to perform was announced on Feb. 20 by the organizer of the annual music festival on Facebook and Twitter.
Aside from the two groups, other performers are singer Choi Sung-Soo, with HAHA as the emcee.
Other artists that will perform will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Korea Times Music Festival is one of the largest concerts in Southern California that showcases old and new Korean singers and pop idols.
Among the performers last year were SS501 , Girls' Generation , SHINee , Kim Tae Woo, Baek Ji Young, Lena Park, Lee Juk and Son Ho Young.
Past performers include Rain, TVXQ and BoA.
The music festival is a celebrated occasion for the Asian-American community and is organized annually by the Korea Times Media Group.
It traces its roots to 2003 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Korean immigration to the US.
"The concert is a 4-hour event that consists of 12-15 top-tier Korea artists ranging from the most popular idol groups to famous 'trot' singers of years past; it concludes with the legendary Hollywood Bowl fireworks finale," the organizer said.
"The Korean Music Festival provides a night of harmony that is often difficult to achieve among generations. It is the perfect night to bring the family together for a night that the whole family can enjoy," it added.
